Project Location

The McCormick and Vineland Green Street Project (Project) is located in Council District 2 in the North Hollywood area of Los Angeles. The Project is located in a commercial area.

Project Description

The Project captures stormwater and urban runoff from a 30-acre watershed and infiltrates the captured water into underground aquifers. During a normal rainy season, the project has the potential to capture more than 5.5 million gallons of water annually. A catch basin and drywells capture and infiltrate rainwater and urban runoff.

Project benefits:
  • Infiltrates of stormwater into the San Fernando Valley Groundwater Basin
  • Reduces localized flooding
  • Removes pollutants such as trash, bacteria, metals and nutrients from stormwater runoff
  • Increases pedestrian and vehicular convenience and safety

Project Cost and Partners

The Project cost was $76,500 with funding provided by LA Sanitation and Environment and Los Angeles’ Community Redevelopment Excess Bond.
