Community Collaboration

From the initial project planning and design to construction, the Venice Dual Force Main Sewer Project has strived to minimize construction impacts to the community. Through partnerships with the communities of Venice, Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey we have engaged in productive conversations with residents, stakeholders and business to continue to address community concerns.

LA SANITATION & ENVIRONMENT COMMUNITY INFORMATION KIOSK

LA Sanitation & Environment Community Information Kiosk

Our VDFM Community Liaison hosts an information kiosk at an LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce event in Playa Vista.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP TRAFFIC MITIGATION

Community Partnership Traffic Mitigation

Working closely with the community, we are able to refine our project traffic control. Here, at Via Dolce at Marquesas Way in Venice, we relocated the stop bar and restriped the area in response to community concerns.

INCREASED PATROL

VDFM Increased LAPD Community Patrols

To address community concerns our project team coordinated with LAPD to provide additional coverage at Culver Boulevard and Pacific Avenue.

SIGNAGE FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES

VDFM Signage for local businesses

Prior to construction in Playa del Rey, our team met with local businesses and installed “Open for Business“ signage as a construction mitigation.

NO TRUCK TRAFFIC AT NIGHT

VDFM No Semi-Truck Traffic at night

As part of our project mitigation, nighttime truck traffic is not permitted, limiting noise impacts for the communities of Venice, Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey.

SOUND WALLS REDUCE CONSTRUCTION NOISE

Sound Wall Reduce Construction Noise

Sound walls minimize noise and dust at project locations. Our information banners direct the public on how to reach our project team.

CYCLISTS ACCESS

VDFM Cyclists Access

Through coordination with our project partners, we have maintained cyclist and pedestrian access to the Ballona Creek bridge. This bridge connects Playa del Rey and Marina del Rey and is a major bike path in the area.

PARKING AUGMENTATION

VDFM Parking Augmentation

Through collaboration with the Playa del Rey Jungle community, we have created a public parking area on Vista del Mar Lane. We removed multiple red curb areas to maximize available parking.
