LA Sanitation (LASAN) has established programs for Los Angeles City and L.A. County residents to safely dispose of their household hazardous waste (HHW) including electronic waste (E-waste), and used motor oil. These wastes can be dropped off at permanent collection sites known as S.A.F.E. Centers or mobile collection events located throughout the City of Los Angeles. Check out the S.A.F.E. Center flyer for more information and LASAN's Events page for the next mobile event in your area. TRANSPORTATION LIMIT: It is against the law to transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste to collection sites. Please pack your waste properly to prevent tipping or spilling of the waste during transportation.
S.A.F.E. Centers (Solvents/Automotive/Flammables/Electronics) are permanent collection sites that are open every weekend for residents to drop off their HHW, e-waste, and used oil. Scroll down for a list of locations and operating hours.
Small businesses that qualify for the Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CEQG) Program may dispose of their hazardous waste at the S.A.F.E. Centers for a fee. This service is by appointment ONLY. Please call (213) 485-2260 to book an appointment.
