East West Valley Interceptor Sewer Project will increase the production and use of recycled water in the City of Los Angeles to help address concerns about the long-term reliability of imported water. The proposed project would divert and convey wastewater from the eastern portions of the San Fernando Valley to the the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant (DCTWRP) in Van Nuys, where it would be used to generate recycled water that would be distributed through the existing recycled water distribution system that extends from DCTWRP. The project will convey additional flows via a 6-mile, 24-inch to 42-inch diameter force main sewer from the North Hollywood, Van Nuys/Sylmar, and Pacoima primary sewer basins to DCTWRP. The alignment will travel along Victory Boulevard between Vineland Avenue and Haskell Avenue, diverting up to 21 million gallons per day (MGD) peak dry weather flow by 2090.
