Hyperion Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Pilot Project

The primary goal of the Hyperion Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Pilot Facility is to obtain the necessary scientific, technical, design, and operational data for the future transformation of HWRP to a 100% water recycling facility (Hyperion 2035). The Hyperion MBR Pilot Facility Project is a collaboration between LASAN, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the West Basin Municipal Water District. The project plan is to operate the Hyperion MBR Pilot Facility for one year to determine the efficiency of removing pathogens in MBR systems and as a way to collect data that will support the regulatory process for Hyperion 2035.
