Biodiversity Partnerships

LASAN’s Biodiversity Program coordinates with a variety of experts and with a broad network of stakeholders to monitor and steward local biodiversity.

LASAN’S BIODIVERSITY TEAM

LASAN’s Biodiversity Team is led by Michelle Barton under the guidance of Mas Dojiri, Assistant General Manager. LASAN’s Biodiversity Team believes that expert input and stakeholder engagement are critical in the effort to protect the City’s biodiversity. In 2017, LASAN convened three groups:

  1. An Interdepartmental Team
  2. A Biodiversity Expert Council
  3. And a Stakeholder group
These three teams have been critical to success and building consensus.

INTERDEPARTMENTAL TEAM

The Interdepartmental Team is composed of representatives from various City Departments, like Recreation & Parks and the LA Zoo, that perform work related to biodiversity.
