RECYCLA COLLECTION DELAYS DUE TO SADDLERIDGE FIRE
  • recycLA areas of impact are Northeast Valley, West Valley and West LA.
  • recycLA Service Providers experiencing operational issues due to the fire are Republic Services, Waste Management, and Athens.
  • Customers in areas impacted by the fire have been contacted about service delays and there will be ongoing updates to customers.
  • There will be no recycLA service to customers north of Roscoe toward the 118 freeway today due to fire impact.
  • In general, today's non-collected recycLA customer sites will be serviced tomorrow, if conditions improve.
  • recycLA Service Providers have adjusted their routes as necessary to find alternate sites for disposal in consideration of temporary landfill closures.


There are changes to recycLA!

In the new Removing Barriers to Recycling program, recycLA customers will no longer be charged access and distance fees for blue bin service, and customers who have paid those extra fees previously may receive a credit.

As customers are educated about what materials can and cannot be recycled over the next two years, no contamination fees will be assessed and certain scheduled rate increases will be delayed. Between now and the end of this two year education phase, there will be an intense effort to teach customers how to increase recycling and decrease trash in order to pay less.
