Sewer Lateral CCTV (Video) Rebate


The City of Los Angeles is offering two sewer lateral rebates on a first-come, first-serve basis, until annual allocated funds are exhausted, to rate paying property owners who own residential, multifamily, commercial, and industrial property, and who pay sewer service charge to the City of Los Angeles.

Most property owners do not know that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their entire private sewer lateral, aka house sewer connection. A CCTV is a video visual assessment of the private sewer lateral where a licensed, and bonded sewer contractor sends a camera down the sewer lateral to check for cracks, separations, blockages, roots, etc. The sewer contractor also writes a report describing whatever repairs, if any, that may be needed for the sewer lateral. If no repairs are needed, then the property owner can have peace of mind.
Have your sewer lateral televised by a licensed and bonded sewer contractor and you will be eligible for up to a $300 rebate.

You will need to submit:
  • An official LASAN Application.
  • A copy of the licensed contractor/plumber invoice that shows:
    • The contractor's license number,
    • The itemized costs of materials and labor for the CCTV inspection,
    • The date of the work was performed,
    • Your property address, and 
    • Evidence that the work was paid in full to the contractor
  • A copy of the CCTV video showing your property address at the beginning of the video.
  • A copy of the CCTV inspection report describing the condition of the sewer lateral.
  • A copy of your most recent DWP bill.
  • Your APN # (from your property tax bill).
  • A completed IRS W-9 form. (required only after the rebate is approved)
  • Sign a Release and Waiver of Liability.
