Understanding Rates

LA Sanitation uses a variety of rates in order to ensure it has the capacity to best serve residents. If you have a question about your bill or your rates, please call our 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489 and we would be pleased to assist you.

Lifeline customers, because of age or disability, and low-income status, receive a discounted rate for the Solid Resources Fee – otherwise known as the “trash fee.” Lifeline customer eligibility must be verified every two years to determine if the discounted rate should continue.
