Christmas Tree Recycling Program The City of LA Bureau of Sanitation is now expanding CURBSIDE collection for Christmas trees. If your tree is too big to cut and put into the green waste bin, simply place the tree next to your waste bins on collection day. Before recycling your tree, please remove all ornaments, decorations, tinsels, and stands. Using your green bin to recycle Christmas tree? 1. REMOVE all ornaments, decorations, tinsels, and stand from the treeMultifamily and Apartment residents that do not have green bins are encouraged to set their Christmas tree at the curb for collection by the Bureau of Sanitation. Drop-off Dates and Times Saturday, January 2, 2010 : 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 : 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Recreation & Parks Sites Recreation & Park locations continue to accept Christmas trees for ONE WEEKEND ONLY (see dates and times above). Some locations will not be open. Check the listing on this page. There will be NO giveaways and we will NOT be accepting holiday wrapping and packaging material for recycling at the Recreation & Park sites. Fire Station Sites City of Los Angeles Fire Stations participating in the drop-off program will ONLY accept Christmas trees from residents for ONE WEEKEND ONLY (see dates and times above).
