Strategic Programs

Solids Resources is planning innovative approaches to new facilities and services. With a goal of 70% diversion of refuse from landfills by 2020, the Bureau has:

• Created a pilot program to expand collection of recycling to apartments and other multi-family residential units. The Bureau is considering expansion of the program.
• Produced a facilities plan to determine better ways of processing recyclables.
• Brought alternative technologies to the table in a quest to find options to landfill disposal of refuse.
