‘Alternative Technologies’ is a host of specific technologies such as: thermal, biological, pyrolysis, gasification, advanced thermal recycling, anaerobic and aerobic digestion among others. These technologies are all methods to process municipal solid waste as an alternative to landfills.

In an effort to be responsive to the needs of the City of Los Angeles, BOS has identified a list of technologies that are proven in real world applications and can be scaled up to the levels needed to support the City.
