Solid Resources Fee/Extra Capacity Charge

A Solid Resources Fee is charged to all single family homes, duplexes and multiple family residences that use the Bureau of Sanitation collection services. This fee is used for the purchasing and maintenance of vehicles, equipment and containers. In addition, Extra Capacity containers are available for residences that generate more material on a weekly basis than will fit into the standard allotted containers. The standard Solid Resources Fee for residents serviced by the Bureau of Sanitation is $36.32 per month for single family homes and duplexes, and $24.33 per month for condominiums, mobile parks, and multi unit dwellings. The standard allowance for household trash is one 60-gallon black container; the extra capacity charge is $5.00 per month per 30 gallons, for a minimum of six months. The standard allowance for yard trimmings is one 90-gallon green container; the extra capacity charge is $2.50 per month per 30 gallons, for a minimum of six months. The standard allowance for recyclables is one 90-gallon blue container; there is no extra capacity charge for recyclables. There is no standard allowance for Horse Manure containers. To obtain a brown horse manure container the charge is $10.00 per month per 60 gallons, for a minimum of six months. The Service Request form takes two days to be processed. The delivery/service of containers occur the day after your trash day. For example, for Monday trash collection, we will deliver/service your container on Tuesday.
