The Garden has an enthusiastic
docent and volunteer program. Docents conduct and support the tour program
and special garden events such as Springtime in the Garden and Autumn
in the Garden.
As a member of our
Docent/Volunteer program, you will be bringing an enjoyable experience
to our visitors by elaborating on the unique visula, horticultural beauty
and esthetic elements within the garden. You will further serve the
public by imparting information about the water reclamation process.
In addition to our Docent program, there are also opportunities to serve in the Garden gift shop and for the Sunday tea service. The gift shop offers a great opportunity to meet the public and help them select that special item to take home as a memory of their visit. The Sunday tea service is in the Shoin Building (take the virtual tour!) serving refreshments to guests as they stroll through the Garden.
The fact that you
are committing to the Docent/Volunteer service indicates that you are
a generous and concerned individual. It is our hope that you will receive
feelings of satisfaction from the positive response of the public to
your presentation and at the same time derive personal pleasure from
the tranquil beauty of the Garden.
