Mobile Washers

Beginning in June 2001, mobile washer operators, for example on-site carpet cleaners and on-site carwashers/detailing, were instructed to properly handle and dispose of wash water. The City prepared an education program to assist mobile washer operators and property owners in understanding their responsibilities regarding the management of industrial wastewater generated from mobile washer activities. Among the educational material prepared for this program was the Mobile Washer Information Sheet, which includes a summary of the regulations covering mobile washer activities, and a brief description of the Best Management Practices to prevent the entry of industrial wastewater into the storm drain system. In April of 2005, the CA presented the Mobile Washer Program requirements to the members of the LA Chapter of Carpet & Fabric Institute.
