      Low-Strength SSC and Related Information 

    The L-S SSC rate, as of April 6, 2012, is $2.370/HCF. ORD 182,076 (Adopted 3-1-12, Eff. 4-06-12)   The cost for the components are $0.363/lb of BOD and 0.365/lb of SS where BOD = Biochemical Oxygen Demand, SS = Suspended Solids, and HCF = Hundred Cubic Feet.  Reference LAMC Sec. 64.30 - Industrial Wastewater Disposal,   '12 Prop.218 Hearing Notification clear spacer

Customers qualify for Low-Strength SSC if the discharge has a BOD <265 mg/l and an SS of <275 mg/l.  Submit a request for adjustment to FMD & also an IWMD application (instructions).  For billing inquiries on the BOD & SS industrial waste fees, customers must call the Bureau of Sanitation, Industrial Waste Management Division (IWMD) at: 323 342-1518 or email them at san.iwmd@lacity.org. For billing disputes, changes in business ownership or billing addresses, please notify the Bureau of Sanitation, IWMD in writing and mail pertinent changes to: Bureau of Sanitation, IWMD, 2714 Media Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90065.
Please note that for commercial customers, the default percentage discharge has changed to 93%.
