To highlight some of the accomplishments and improvements of the City’s biosolids management program we have completed our annual 2008 Biosolids Environmental Management System Performance Report. Other Options and Proposals

The City currently manages approximately 700 wet tons of biosolids every day. In order to ensure that the biosolids are put to beneficial use in an environmental sound manner, the City investigates new management options. When the City is seeking to develop and implement new options a Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued. The RFPs are evaluated and if considered viable a contract is negotiated and executed with the vendor or contractor.

Other Management Options

The City has contracted with Solids Solution to manage some of its biosolids. Terra Renewal (formerly Solids Solutions) manages some of the material in Kern County and in Arizona. To find out more about Solid solutions click here
