The Zero Waste LA Franchise System

The City of Los Angeles is transitioning to a new waste and recycling system for all businesses and large apartment complexes. The goals of our new system - a franchise program called Zero Waste LA - include:

Higher Recycling (90% diversion from landfills by 2025)
Fair Customer Rates
Reduced Street Impacts and Cleaner Air
Superior Customer Service

Zero Waste LA will not affect single family home residents - or anyone serviced by the City of Los Angeles. You can help make the Zero Waste LA a better program. Please take our survey by following the Surveys link, above.

On June 12, 2014, LASAN released a Request for Proposal for the Zero Waste LA Franchise System. On October 29, 2014 LASAN received fifteen proposals in response to the Request for Proposal. Proposals were received from the following:
