Visit to LA by Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar
North Atwater Park

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa announced that the Los Angeles River has been selected an an America's Great Outdoors project and an Urban Waters Federal Partnership pilot site.

 

 

The site of the North Atwater Park project that improved an existing riverbank green space to include a picnic area, demonstration garden, outdoor classroom, and concrete tunnel and play area. The restoration and landscaping with native plants prevent erosion and naturally clean stormwater before discharge to the Los Angeles River.
